NEEDS
implemented a turn-key energy saving project for the Giant store
tailoring a strategic plan for significant decrease in the client
electricity bill. The project started by identifying energy consumption
areas and assessed energy saving opportunities
prior to the development of the energy saving solution. Comprehensive
analysis of the Giant Store energy use data depict the measures to
achieve overall system efficiency, define scope for a complete design,
and present cost/savings analysis using state of the art technical and
economical tools and software. NEEDS managed the overall contracting
electrical and mechanical works required for the project.

NEEDS developed a comprehensive feasibility study and business plan to establish an Energy Services Company in Saudi Arabia. On the basis of complete analysis of the power sector problems and challenges in Saudi Arabia, NEEDS proposed detailed plan of business activities required to initiate the energy efficiency for large-scale industries. The plan also developed the platform for immediate intervention in the small-scale energy sales business. As a result, the group was able to reach a turnover of 40 M$ by the year 2004 with a total 120 MW of energy production capacity.

NEEDS has provided engineering services for Siemens in its BRCC project. Services include providing consulting,
training and trouble shooting of the Supervisory Control and
Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Moreover, NEEDS
responsibilities cover the computer hardware/administration
as well as software training, consulting and maintenance for
the control centre during the post commissioning operation
and maintenance period.
NEEDS staff was responsible for direct communication with
the client which was a key element in the project success.
During the project implementation strong relation and
confidence was built with GECOL Engineers. As a result, a
plan for long-term operation and maintenance support was
under consideration. The plan was frozen due to a number of
unforeseen constraints.
